Teenager & College

Students

Playing the piano cultivates a sense of musicality, strengthens the brain for problem solving activities, and links the two sides of the brain together more effectively .
Whether a student is continuing lessons, starting fresh, or transferring teachers, Hannah listens to student's goals and interests.  She tailors lessons to include games, duet playing, singing, listening and composition exercises.  This encourages students to think and experience music holistically.
Playing Music as a Teenager & College Student
Expressing emotions or thoughts through music never gets old! There are so many genres of music, so there is something for everyone to enjoy playing.

Playing the piano as a teen or college student is a wonderful time to start playing or advance already established skills.  At this age, motor skills are more advanced, which makes the physical process of playing easier; conceptually the information is more easier to understand, as basic math skills have already been developed; and students can more clearly verbalize their purpose for learning to play and their areas of interest.
Picking the Right Music
Hannah listens to the student's and parents' or caregiver's purpose for learning to play the piano and tailors the music books and exercises based on their interests and goals.
Most students primarily focus on studying the different time periods of classical music and incorporate pop music along the way.  This gives student's a broad experience that can help them decide the music that enjoy playing the most.
